I’m rocking the chop for my brother.

Cancer affects the lives of so many, including my own.

That's why, come May, along with my peers I will be taking part in Cancer Council's Ponytail Project to raise both money and awareness for those impacted by cancer.

I'm participating in Ponytail Project to show solidarity with my brother, a cancer survivor. Him, along with all others who battle cancer, have shown and continue to show insurmountable strength and stand strongly in the face of the unthinkable. By donating, we remind all of them that we are always behind them, and that they never stand alone.

When my brother was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 10, it completely flipped my family's life upside down. Seeing my brother go through something so life-altering and painful was the most difficult thing I've ever gone through. To stand here today with my brother still by my side is something I will never be able to fully express my gratitude for. So if even a single donation can contribute to making the lives of people still experiencing this hardship easier, it makes it entirely worth it.

All of our chopped off hair will go towards creating wigs for cancer patients. Additionally, the money raised will directly contribute to cancer research, essential patient care services, and preventative programs. From providing transportation for cancer patients to teaching kids the importance of sun safety, every dollar raised makes a tangible difference in improving the lives of these people.
