I'm chopping off my hair to put a stop to cancer!

The End of the Long Hair Era

In 2019 (Year 7) I took part in Cancer Council’s Ponytail Project campaign to raise funds that will support Queenslanders impacted by cancer. Now it’s 2024 (Year 12) and my hair has grown even longer.

Many of us take our hair for granted, seeing it as something that grows back without much thought. But for those battling cancer, hair loss can be a constant reminder of their struggle. If I can give someone the gift of feeling whole again, then I consider it a privilege to do so.

Every ponytail chopped will make a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer #chopforchange.

All funds raised will go towards cancer research, prevention programs and support services. This means everything from transport to get cancer patients to and from their medical appointments, to assisting childcare facilities to keep kids safe from the sun.

I know that I can help create change.
