Our friends at Sustainable Salons have a whole bunch of incredible member salons that will chop your pony, style your hair and ensure you are rocking your new chop in no time.

Better yet! All Sustainable Salons member salons have been specially trained to cut ponytails for donation and can securely send your donation to Sustainable Salons on your behalf (no postage required), meaning you can skip steps 3 and 4 to donating your pony.

These incredible salons might even be able to attend your chop event to chop your pony!

This cool organisation distributes them to charities and local wigmakers where they can become wigs for people going through medically induced hair-loss conditions such as alopecia and cancer or help fund other life-changing programs!

Decide who's chopping

All Sustainable Salons stylists are specially trained to cut ponytails for donation. Search for one near you and ask if they will help you at your event.
Reach out to your hairdresser and ask them to attend your event to chop your pony!

Measure your ponytail

Sustainable Salons accept uncoloured hair from people of any age, gender, hair type and hair colour as long as the hair is properly prepared and measures the correct length.
They recommend measuring your hair before you cut your ponytail - that way you can see if even just a little more can make a super special impact!

Sustainable Salons can't accept:
wet hair, dreadlocks, synthetic hair, loose hair, and ponytails less than 20cm

Chop correctly for donation

Post your ponies!

Once your ponytails are ready to donate, either drop them off at your nearest Sustainable Salon or follow the packing and mailing instructions outlined on the Ponytail Donation Form.
