Cut for a cure 🩷

8 years ago someone very special to me lost her life to breast cancer. My second mother who took care of me when my real mum was finishing her PHD. She taught me how to bake, never said no to a good game of snakes and ladders and was always entertaining us in one way or another. 

She discovered she had breast cancer in 2011 and she was given 4 years to live. At that point, I was only three years old, 4 years and a bit passed and I was 8. She made sure my sister and I didn’t know that she was going to die or even that she was sick. She was the most deserving of life, and the most generous soul. She is where my creativity, my curiosity and my empathy has stemmed from. The impact she left on absolutely everyone she ever met will never be forgotten.

Throughout Chemo, she was not supported by any cancer foundations because she was terminal. No matter if the cancers in its early stages or if it’s terminal, cancer patients shouldn’t have to worry financially throughout that time. Therefore, hope to be a small part in making at least one persons medical costs not be part of their cancer journey. 

Anna, Luka and I lost our Bibby, but my dad lost his mother. I am doing this for both my father and my grandfather.
